Shadow Freddy, or Purple Bear, or (now most commonly), Nightmare is a mysterious purple creature who took the appearance of Freddy Fazbear. He is the overarching antagonist in the series created by Zajcu37 and has nearly appeared in every episode of the current series, and is currently the strongest character in the series.
Biography[]
Shadow Freddy is one of the main antagonists in the series created by Zajcu37 and a supporting antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. He appears as a minor character in Five Nights at Freddy's 2, the secondary antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's 3, the first antagonist of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator and other succeeding games.
History[]
Shadow Freddy was once a human, who had a family and lived in a small but outgoing town and worked as a ongoing Engineer in the building called Fredbear’s Family Dinner, a place where Animatronics beings would sing and keep the children entertained and would be used for entertainment purposes only, where he would help repair and keep the Animatronics in tact and in good condition for the next day. Until one night, the night guard wanted to ridicule the worker and damaged one of the Robots, to which the next day, it turned out the company of the building, accused the worker of for sabotaging of one of the Robots and fired him. Before he left his placement, next to the damaged Robot, he found an item that belonged to the Night Guard. His revenge consumed him, to the point of scaring his own daughter then stabbing the doll he made of the night guard. He lost his money, home and family, making him all alone. He lost everything he loved and cared for. He understood that, as he sat by a fire place, that his only purpose was to kill the night guard.
One night, he sneaked inside the building to finally get his revenge on the night guard. Instead of him killing the guard himself, he reprogrammed one of the Robots to do the job for him but the Robot malfunctioned and deactivated for a short while. This caused him to go out of the hiding place he was in, find the robot and then kicked it in rage which then activated the Animatronic and killed him and when the Night Guard showed up, it was too late. The company hide the incident in order to not ruin its reputation. Everyone thought that the worker was dead due to his fatal injuries, but he survived thanks to his intense hatred for people. As a wondering piece of soul, he found a subject that gave him immense abilities, which then combined the body and an endo skeleton all in one, thus creating the Nightmare, however, the only thing he lacked was a physical body so he was more or less, a ghost.
The ball could create a physical body but once again, he made a mistake and caused the body to break apart and fall onto the ground. His soul was divided into four pieces, each soul was looking for a place to hide. Three parts found hidden in two robots and a puppet. Giving them life and their own personality and abilities. The last part of the soul kept wondering for many years until they opened a new Pizzeria and new animatronic’s have appeared. During this time, the Puppet gave life to the new robots, diving the soul into smaller parts to which this time, the wondering soul connected with the Freddy’s head but however, it was very weakened and couldn’t control the Animatronic, thus imprisoning the soul. Later the Puppet gave life to the rest of the other robots, dividing the soul into smaller and smaller parts.
For the time being during this, he was very inactive and imprisoned, getting weaker and weaker as the years go by but however, he was re-activated by the unintentional of Mangle, releasing him from his imprisonment from the ball. Offering a chance of vengeance and sharing his backstory with her, they both had something in common and he convinced her that humans needs to be wiped out from existence and made a partnership with her, letting her fool the rest of the Animatronics. Shadow Freddy later warned Mangle, as she was starting to gain romantic feelings for the damaged robot, that the feeling will only be a hindrance to their plans and to which, she eventually stopped loving him.
Shadow Freddy later makes Mangle put the ball next for the Freddy’s hair to cause him hallucinations, and to which it works. Freddy wakes up and is in a dream, where a mysterious voice requests him to follow him and as he does, he is viewed the future events that will occur. After awhile, he is led into the office where he meets Shadow Freddy, who explains that Freddy was chosen to be the one warner about the forthcoming times of conflict, and reveals the truth to Freddy how he and his friends were put out of service, and to which Freddy finally finds out which side to join and wakes up. Shadow then says, everything is going to the plan then disappears.
During the Final Plan and before Golden Freddy eliminates the Toy gang once and for fall, Shadow tells Mangle to kill the earlier-knocked out night guard under the Shadow Freddy’s control. Shortly afterwards, she becomes disabled due to the curse of 6am.
Due to not being moved to the place that they were originally supposed to be moved at, Shadow Freddy told Mangle to find the old Springtrap costume to cause the destruction of the location, and he helped her create the chip that aggressively influenced Springtrap’s behaviour and placed it inside him. After awhile, Toy Freddy started to suspect Mangle’s unusual behaviour to which she and Shadow expected that the others would to so they ha to act quickly and wake him up. They manipulated an unconscious Freddy into going to him so Shadow Freddy could give Springtrap his power.
During the Awakening, Shadow Freddy pays a visit to Freddy to warn him of the imminent threat that is Spring Bonnie, knowing that the latter had gotten a ‘nightmare’ about him and telling him that Goldsn Freddy needed to be informed so he can take care of the matter on his own. As Shadow Freddy watched Springtrap and Golden Freddy talk downstairs in the basement, and Golden Freddy was prepared to kill him, Shadow Freddy grants him that ability to completely move again to which then Springtrap overpowers and knocks unconscious Golden Freddy.
During Springtrap’s rampage, Toy Chica encounters him and is knocked out by him. He tries to kill her after doing so but is stopped by Shadow Freddy, who orders him to not kill her as she is still needed for him to collect all of his souls. Downstairs, Shadow Freddy, now proven to be manipulating both events from each side, releases Golden Freddy from his restraints and watches unnoticed as GD Freddy kneels to his dead friends.
After awhile as all the Animatronics have proven to be in fact disabled and sent to another Pizzeria, half of them now Phantoms, the plan is still in motion. Shadow Freddy makes an appearance and alters Springtrap’s mind so that he will be, by instinct, to follow the voice of a child once he hears it. In the next area of the building, an odd presence emits from it and travels towards Shadow Freddy and gets absorbed into him, making him receive an updated form of his right hand that originally belonged to Nightmare, to then he changes it back to his original hand and disappears. Watching Bonnie and Toy Chica have a discussion, he watches from the roof above, he notes to himself about how the animatronics are unaware of their origin and that he needs to “protect them at all costs”, but satisfied with everything going according to the plan.
Personality[]
Shadow Freddy, as a human, he seemed to be a fun and caring father and worker who wanted to take care for his family and himself. He loved his job and wouldn't want anything better than it. However, his personality quickly changes to a vengeful and dangerous person who wanted nothing more to kill the Night Guard for taking away everything from him. As he was too driven by his rage, he eventually got a Robot to kill the night guard but however, Shadow Freddy was murdered by it instead.
Reborn as an animatronic, he was even more dangerous and manipulative and wanted nothing more to kill all humans and change the world, to all nothing but robots. Shadow Freddy is cruel, nihilistic and psychopathic often showing sadistic traits. His demeanor often leaves to intimidation and he has a very low tolerance of failures, as he killed the damaged Mangle for getting damaged during the fight with Springtrap and showed no care as he did so. He, however, hates it when he gets outclassed as Toy Chica tricked him and got into the portal before one of his minions got in, aside from mini Springbonnie. He also likes to test others's loyalty to him, as he requested Mangle to kill her lover into getting more powerful and as hard as it was for her, she did as her Lord said and eliminated him. He congrats her for doing so and did as he promised. He is also extremely confident to the point of arrogance. He was unfazed by Toy Chica telling him that they'll defeat him and that his self-confidence will backfire against him, only laughed it off. He also likes to provoke others, as he provoked Toy Chica and mocking her until he got what he wanted off her, by getting her mad and then the two proccessed to fight, with Nightmare badly destroying her armor. He is also somewhat delusional too.
Powers and Abilities[]
Omnipotent: Shadow Freddy, with the use of the ball, gains unlimited levels of power, making him the most powerful character throughout the entire series. His power is so great that it makes him immortal, and to the point that it required Golden Freddy to reverse engineer his teleportater into a time machine and to make Toy Chica go back in time to stop Nightmare and bring back their friends. He is almost invincible, with the only way for him to be subdue is for him to make another mistake again that would make him lose his ability yet again, however, this seems very unlikely to happen again. This makes him nearly unstoppable. He displays incredible understanding of his powers and use them effectively.
Immortality: Shadow Freddy is immortal and thus, immune to age and diseases. He apparently cannot die but with Golden Freddy saying there’s a way to kill him, makes Shadow Freddy’s fact of him being truly immortal have less weight on it. But due to being a creature with unlimited power, he may seem to be unkillable by any means necessary.
Superhuman Strength: Shadow possesses immense levels of strength that far exceeds all known Animatronics in the entire series, making him the strongest character, even stronger than Springtrap himself and Golden Freddy. His strength allows him to overpower and defeat any creature with ease, and badly damage them to the point of near-death. He was able to easily overpower and beat Toy Chica, with the smaller Animatronic barely able to get any hits in as he dominated the fight. He punched one of his soldiers to which the force was that much, it knocked them out.
Weapon Generation: Shadow Freddy is able to create and generate weapons that are embedded with dark energy at will. Theses weapons are incredibly powerful and absorb the life of the Animatronic that is said-stabbed with the weapon. He often uses theses as his primary choice of defence.
Shapeshifting: Shadow Freddy is able to effortlessly change his form. He usually stays in the form of purple variant of Freddy Fazbear, and only goes in his true form to intimidate others. He also was able to change his form into Golden Freddy’s to trick Bonnie.
Teleportation: Shadow Freddy’s one of his main primary uses of his power is to teleport at will. He is able to effortlessly teleport from one location to another.
Power Absorption; Shadow Freddy is able to absorb the powers, or souls, of others, as he was able to absorb parts of Mangle’s soul thanks to her and a large emit of energy that gave him a new upgrade and then the rest of the souls from the other Animatronics.
Power Bestowal: Shadow Freddy is able to give away part of his power to others, as he gave his power to Springtrap, enabling him to move again and a large amount of his power to Mangle, making her far more powerful.
Mind Control: Shadow Freddy is able to mind control others and command them to do as he pleases, as he controlled Mangle to kill the night guard.
Telepathy: Shadow Freddy is able to go in the minds of others and communicate with them, as shown with Freddy on multiple occasions and Bonnie but in a different form.
Intangibility: Shadow can go through any object with ease, he can also use this ability whilst using levitation.
