The Artifact is a an entity that came to earth and took resides in a ball shaped object. It doesn't have any actual body or form. It is allegedly omnipotent and can see every possible outcome of the future. The orb is currently used by Shadow Freddy to execute Project A however The Artifact itself must be neutral and maintain balance between both sided of the conflict in Season 4 and for that Reason it gave Toy Chica the ability to oppose Nightmare.
History[]
1983[]
The Artifact came to earth in an unknown time and took a place inside an orb in Fredbear's Family Diner. After the 1983 incident The Artifact caused human Nightmare to continue living in a new body. After the soul split to 4 parts The Artifact remained hidden for years while the rest of the animatronics received life.
1987[]
The Artifact was found by Mangle in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza II and after touching it Shadow Freddy was revealed for her. She was recruited to his side and used the Artifact to manipulate other animatronics. To keep the orb hidden Mangle put it in Toy Chica's cupcake where it stayed for years.
1993-2016[]
After FFP2 closed The Artifact was moved with everyone to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza III and remained hidden inside the cupcake. Mangle used it to help Shadow Freddy activate Springtrap by using it to power a mind control device and wreak havoc in the place.
2016[]
The Artifact was used to help Mangle become material after turning into a phantom in Fazbear's Fright and to give the animatronics instruction of how to get out of this location. Fazbear's fright burned down and the animatronics moved to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza I where The Artifact was put in Nightmare's old body.
2020[]
The Artifact remained hidden until the animatronics began to investigate about Nightmare. To avoid its finding Mangle took it and programmed an endoskeleton to use it on Freddy and release Nightmare from his head. Nightmare was release and the Artifact was in his possession.
2020-2120[]
The Artifact was used for Nightmare's Project A in The Nightmare War however it also maintained the ability of the animatronics to oppose Nightmare to maintain balance in the conflict, After Bonnie was killed it revived him partially and gave him the instructions of how to set up the proper opposition to Nightmare by giving him the ability to see the future and deliver the information about The Soul Sword and the back up consciousnesses to Golden Freddy. It prevented Bonnie from achieving any goals by himself.
Using Bonnie The Artifact set up Toy Chica to be the one to match Nightmare's powers and while she was traveling back to 2020 to take Bonnie's soul The Artifact revealed itself to her and made the first appearance as a sentient being. During the meeting it changed into many different forms and talked to Toy Chica while taking the appearance of her future self. It explained the need for balance to her and how the Sword works. It also gave her a prophecy and hinted toward an animatronic that received a special gift that lets them see all future outcomes (later revealed to be Bonnie).
The orb is currently in Alpha 1 Factory and being used for the final stages of Project A
